Are You Willing And Able To Change For a Better Life?
You start another year and sense an inner drive to make some changes in your life. Have you clarified your resolutions and initiated your change journey? Are you already slipping off the path and back into the old habits that are failing to fulfill you?
James Prochaska in his book Changing For Good states that
there are four levels of orientation toward change as follows:
- Obliviousness or outright resistance
- Contemplating a change at some vague future point
- Ripeness to formulate a plan
- Readiness to take action
Where are you in this process? You can be contemplating a change relative to your work but be oblivious or resistant to a needed change at home at the same time.
You may currently be sensing a shift to the next stage in an important area of your life. You may be ready to formulate a plan or take action. The demand for change is ongoing if you are to grow toward greater fulfillment of your purposes and creative potential.
Do you recognize a need or desire to enhance your health this year as part of your commitment to a better quality of life? Are you sensing an urge toward action but find yourself stuck? Are you out of shape and overweight? Have you begun efforts toward greater activity only to suffer pain in your back, neck, knees, or shoulders that stops you from moving forward? Do you have enough energy beyond the daily demands to even try to expand your vitality and health?
I have concluded through caring for thousands of patients over the last 22 years, that your outlook on life and your enthusiasm for a fresh start is directly impacted by the collisions you have had with people and circumstances throughout the years and the accumulated blockages that have resulted! These blockages, whether of physical, chemical, or mental/emotional origin, are stored and memorized in your spine/nervous system interface.
They are compromising your physical mobility, emotional wellbeing, and overall health. The most tragic element can be that you won't even know that your life force is being stolen away, as with heart disease and cancer, until extreme and often irreversible damage has been done.
Are you free to change or are you wrestling with feelings of anxiety, anger, fear, worry, or depression that you can't seem to shake? Are you experiencing the repercussions of stored stress but have since forgotten what triggered it in the first place?
I contend that this has happened frequently over the years, causing the layers of stored disturbance to be so deep that many muscles in your neck, shoulders, and back are loaded with fibrous knots.
These same repeated and often unnoticed distress messages are also likely producing compromises in your immune system, various hormonal imbalances, and disharmony in your business and personal relationships.
