Needing a Second Opinion and a Second Chance?
"I've been struggling with a lot of neck and shoulder pain over the last few years and sometimes I get numbness or tingling into my hands. I had an auto accident years ago but I seemed to be fine after that. I get massages and they help for awhile."
"I get neck pain, headaches, and constant tension in my upper back. I think it's just the stress at work though. My doctor referred me for physical therapy but it didn't seem to solve it."
"My lowback has hurt me for as long as I can remember but I can manage as long as I take my Advil or Tylenol regularly. However, now I'm getting sharp radiating pain into my right leg and even some numbness into the foot so I'm starting to worry a little."
"My doctor told me that he's concerned about how much medication I'm taking because my lab tests showed some kidney damage, so I don't quite know what to do now."
Do these scenarios sound familiar? Do you wrestle with either ongoing or intermittent neck or back pain symptoms? Would you appreciate a second opinion with an eye towards a better solution?
I have cared for thousands of patients since 1983 and heard these and many other similar stories of chronic pain or at least chronic less than optimal comfort!
**(Read about my upcoming teleseminar/CD entitled "Second Opinion, Second Chance" - Startling Success Stories in the Journey From Frustration to Pain Relief" in the Quality of Life Enhancement Opportunities section below. It's a powerful exposure to the changed lives of 5 of my patients).
Many people think they're fine, that whatever pain or discomfort they at least occasionally feel is no big deal.
Many others are frustrated in their attempts to find a real answer. They are continually being fed medication in an ongoing effort to block out the symptoms, rather than clarify and correct the real cause of the problem, which is often at the spine/nervous system interface.
I am certain that I've had hundreds of patients (at least) that have ongoing or at least frequent tightness, discomfort, or pain and have been tolerating it for years. They have mostly learned to ignore it, and if they pay any attention, they assume it must be "normal" stress or aging.
They are blown away by the severe extent of degenerative disc and spinal joint decay that I show them on their x-rays! It had been completely out of sight and therefore out of mind.
Some think I must be kidding and walk away unfazed, without a commitment to take any action.
Others have to be encouraged to focus on the present and what we can still do to help them improve, rather than lamenting over the damage that their previous lack of knowledge and appropriate action created.
Some have seemed like they needed a few antidepressants to cope after hearing the truth about their condition. "Uncomfortable truths travel with difficulty" - Primo Levi
Exercise, nutrition, and stress management are of essential importance. Massage, physical therapy, and even medication and surgery have their place and contribution but leave a pivotal, powerful, and conservative solution untapped.
Are you willing to open your mind to a different method and your heart to have hope one more time?
